Low gpu usage

hello guys so im having problems with my new graphic card every time I try to play games i get a low gpu usage and sometimes the usage spikes to 99 but most of the time the use is between 40 or 50, and this is happening in all games, please help me

my config:

FX 8320E

N68 GS4 FX

2X4GB DDR3 1600

EVGA GTX 970

Theres nothing wrong with low gpu usage.... nor spikes.

but im getting low fps on games like tomb raider sometimes the fps goes to 25 or 20

Does fps increase when a spike occurs? Also those spikes can be a cause of thermal throttling. Tbh tho just lower your gpu settings if you want more fps.

It is likely the cpu bottlenecking your gpu. Change some of the more cpu intensive settings to try and reduce it. You can always upgrade the cpu if you want to fix the issue completely but if you don't have the money game settings is the best you can do.

I would assume it's hardware related. I'm not familiar with amd like that but I'm thinking it's cpu bottleknecking

You Seriously NEED a better platform, for THAT GPU.

You have 8 cores.

They are LEGIT,. less than Half as fast as Modern CPU's now on Each Core.

Games primarily task 1-4cores of REAL work, and 1-8threads of backup tasking, some games use more, some less...
But the cores of that CPU are still slow, in ANY modern situation, ensuring a bottleneck on the GPU (say using 1440p/4K) still wont help,. because the CPU has those huge dips & sways in performance, which is the problem of your CPU/Ram-subsystem/interconnects,.. not keeping up with the GameClient/GPU demand.

 

Faster Platform will 100% cure your problem with game performance from your GTX970.
Even an old i5, with each core still being 40+% faster, games will respond kindly.

But why a Ryzen APU if you already have a GPU? Try to get a 1600/2600 if you can afford it. The 1600 ofen goes on sale.
