My PC has had a lot of problems lately. it started about 4 months ago with my PC just randomly freezing and shutting down, I thought it was annoying but ignored it since it only really happened like one a week at most. but in the last two months, I can barely run my pc for any extended period of time without it shutting down ( we are talking 1-3h at best). After some time I figured out that it would shut down when put under stress, like when I was playing games. I ran it through FurMark and Aida64 Extreme without any issues, temps never getting higher than 60 C (140 F). But when running them both at once, it would consistently cause the PC to crash. I looked up a solution to my problem at found that it was usually a damaged PSU that caused these kinds of issues. So I got a new one from Corsair and thought I was good to go. Nope, still the same problem as before. My PSU was very old (4-5 years) so is it possible that it may have damaged some other components?

Specs
OS: Windows 10 64 Bit
CPU: AMD FX-9590 4,7 GHz
GPU: ASUS ROG GTX 1060 6GB Strix
MOBO: ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0
CPU Coller: Swiftech H220
RAM: 24G (8*3)
PSU: Corsair VS550

Mobo and GPU drivers are all up to date

Check for bent pins in the CPU Socket. Also, next time it shuts down, take a stick of ram out. Then the next time it shuts down, replace one of your sticks with the one you took out. That should help identify if the ram is malfunctioning under heavy load.

Additionally, grab a program to monitor your cpu temps. It could be getting too hot and shutting off.

did you check temps? overheating CPU or GPU will cause a shutdown, when they're both working together they're creating more heat so that's probably why

Snip

I had an issue like yours that turned out to be a memory problem.  RMA'd the memory and its fine now.  Can you go into the event log after a crash and see what errors it gives you?  That would help to narrow down what it could be.

Yes, The CPU or GPU never got higher than 60 C (140F). and no signs of thermal throttling.

could be motherboard capacitors going bad? if you open your case and stress your GPU and CPU, can you hear electric buzzing?
might wanna disconnect the fans to hear better.

Do you have any fans blowing on those vrms, cause the FX 9590 will strain your motherboard super hard since they factory overclock those things to 4.7GHz with 1.5v and the TDP is 220W. So either you are hitting the maximum power output from the PSU or those poor vrm are cooking at like 100C. I have my FX 8350 at like 1.475v and those vrms will heat up to 70C.

either way i think the problem is with your motherboard since you already replaced the PSU, you also said that you stressed GPU and CPU individually and they were both okay.

i don't think RAM would cause a shutdown, it would cause a freeze, so we're only left with motherboard.

unless your FX 9590 is overclocked then i don't think 550 watts is enough..

So maybe try to lower the base clock, and see what happens?

Update.

Capacitors look like they are fine

Something I forgot to mention, whenever it would crash, I would have a hard time trying to power it on again. After a crash, I would press the power button and 5-30 seconds later it would shut down again. Most of the time I have to wait for hours before trying to power it on.

Also, I tried to run it through Aida64 again to see the VRM temps, but it shut down after about 3 mins of runtime, CPU only hitting 47 C and the Motherboard hitting 31 C., Unfortunately, I did not get a look at the VRM temps
