Help with a challenge

Hi guys, I have been given this work to do as part of my infrastructure engineering apprenticeship, and im not going to lie, I have no f**king idea what this is even asking, can anyone maybe help shed some light on this

Task

Plan, design and implement a fully functional Data Protection environment using virtual hardware resources based in the Beeston NTD test lab. 3 different types of virtual hardware need to be used and making use of 3 different types of software, to achieve the task.

Data Protection environment points to a back-up solution and archiving in my understanding. Three types of virtual hardware isn't specified well enough. I suppose they could mean 1. virtual storage, 2. virtual compute (CPU, RAM) and 3. virtual networking.

I'm taking a guess here, so check after me before you use this, but i'm thinking virtualization software, firewalls, software raid. Just a guess, I'll get my peeps here to check out the thread
