Greetings! My name is Energize (You can call me Liam), and im in the works of buying a brand new pc from scratch.
I'm not 100% Informed as to wich parts are good and bad, wich is the best bang for my buck, ...
So hopefully I can find some help here! :D

1. Budget & Location

I live in Belgium so we use € over here, hopefully that doesnt mess you guys up too hard ^^
I have a budget of a Maximum of around €2000, I can push to €2100 if needed though. (Lower is always better ofcours)
So yeah, big build coming up hopefully :D

2. Aim

This pc is going to serve as a gaming pc (As well as programming, Im 18 and just recently started my programming education),

Wich games? I play games from very hard to run to not hard to run at all so: Battlefield 1, ARK: Survival evolved & The witcher 3 All the way to fortnite, yes fortnite (I can feel the hate coming).
Also what is very important to me is that it turns out to be a pc I wont have to upgrade/replace any time soon.

3. Monitors

Currently it would only have to run 1 monitor, but that is 100% going to be changed to 2 (1980x1080 resolution)

Im thinking about getting a 144hz, but i'm not quite sure yet (probably not)

4. Peripherals

As talked about earlier, I am going to be getting a second monitor, also Windows 10.

5. Why are you upgrading

My trusty ol' pc I got here has seen it's best days, it is completely unable to run high performance games anymore, even at low graphics.

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

What did I have in mind?

Please help me out on this, i'm far from the most smartest person when it comes to pc building & getting the most for the least price.

Processor

I was thinking about Intel i7-7700k or i7-8700k, opinions?

Motherboard

THIS is the part I really have no clue about what to get, I have 0 knowledge on wich motherboards are best, PLEASE help me out :D

Cooler

Also no idea on this one simply because I don't know wich one would be better to get, water cooling or air cooling, tips?

RAM

16 GB DDR4 - 3200 Corsair vengeance

Graphics card

1070 - 1080ti Somewhere along those lines

HDD & SSD

1TB of HDD (Wich one should I get? I yet again dont have a clue)

256GB of SSD maybe 500 if possible but probably not
Now I think I would like to get the M2 SSD, I don't really know the difference nor the difference in price, I just heard that the M2 is faster and it wouldn't really be worth buying

non-M2 SSD anymore. Again, wich brand?

Case

Couldn't care less, compatible & cheap would be the best

Power supply

Wichever is compatible I guess? I don't know if any brand is better than the other and also don't know how much power I would need for this build.

OS

Windows 10

Conclusion

Where can I/do I need to make cuts, where can I improve?

Also notice I didn't put anything AMD in because I know even less about AMD ;)
THANKS for taking the time to help me out if you do so!!!

I would suggest something like this:

https://be.pcpartpicker.com/list/DbhkD2

I know from experience that certain Belgian computer stores are crap when it comes to pricing.

Therefore, depending on where you intend to buy the parts, prices may vary slightly.
