Hi I am going to buy MSI ATX z370 a PRO motherboard that tells me it supports a wide range of DDR4 RAM with multiple frequencies. I've got one qn. Does the processor should also have to support the same or does the processor has anything to do with RAM frequency compatability? My processor is Intel i7 8700K

I just want to know wheather should the processor also have to support the same frequency or what?

My frequency of RAM is 2400MHz. I don't want more. Will it support or will there be a problem?

The Z370 board will support any DDR4 ram, as long as it isn't ECC memory. 2400MHz is fine.

By the way, are you really using a 212 evo on an 8700K? Are you planning to overclock? If so, the cooler wont handle it. You want something like a H110i if you want to dial in a decent overclock while staying under manageable temps.

will work fine! your CPU should work with any model of DDR4 memory, as long as it isn't ECC (server memory)
