Hi, so im having some latency issues with my i7 4790k https://imgur.com/dV1qxyl .  I suspect the issue has to do with the intergrated graphics, as when I try to bench test my i7 4790k, it shows a much lower latency (using cpuz to benchmark/intel extreme tuning ulitity).  However when I try to benchmark the integrated graphics card (intel HD graphics 4600) using Intel's extreme tuning utility, all I get is a "The Graphics Stress Test Failed".  https://imgur.com/ZdnwLWX.  Any chance does anyone know of any ways to get this back to working condition? Or do I simply have to live with it till I can purchase a new cpu/mobo/ram?  (I've already tried multiple os's, drivers, etc)

So disable the iGPU and use your dGPU instead? You're more likely to need a new CPU than a new board if the iGPU is faulty.

Would I have to go into my bios to disable my iGPU? and the reason im relying so heavily on my cpu is because I currently don't have a dgpu :/.  I was just thinking, if im upgrading my cpu anyways, id probably need to upgrade my motherboard to support it, as newer cpus require the LGA 1551 vs currently my i7 4790k which uses the LGA 1150.

Yeah you'd have to disable it in the BIOS, but if you don't have a dGPU you obviously can't do this. If you upgrade, you'd need to buy a new CPU, new RAM (DDR4) and a new board, yes.

does the iGPU still work? or is it just the stress test that fails...

it craps the bed when I try stress testing it.  It works, but it stutters and has a ton of latency issues to the point where its basically unusable (sound/video issues).

Ya.... that was what I think Ill probably have to do.... I've already tried swapping the psu/ram/motherboard and those weren't the issue, so the only thing left that I haven't touched is my cpu.... but thats going to require a new mobo/DDR4 ram *cries*

Any chance would the "oven trick" fix my cpu? or is that just wishful thinking?

Nope. The iGPU is on the die of the chip. You can't fix the die by baking it. Baking is just for temporarily fixing solder joints.

IGPU probably shat the bed, if you did any overclocking of it that's probably why. Just use a dedicated graphics car tho because the IGPU is pretty shit anyway while the CPU is still awesome

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

you can try using this progam https://downloadcenter.intel.com/es/download/19792/Intel-Processor-Diagnostic-Tool

if there is a another problem  you will see. buy used gpu  if your cpu is working you can keep until you upgrade to another system

you should check all bios option from the igpu

Are you actually using it? A monitor is currently plugged in and outputting video?

What problem exactly are you getting to point to the igpu?

Yes, a monitor is plugged it.  Whenever I run a stress test on the cpu, the latency disappears, and each and every single time I try to test the igpu it fails, no matter what stress test application im using, no matter what OS im using.  I've already tried swapping out the mobo/psu/ram, so the only thing left that could possibly be the issue is the igpu.  Quite frankly, i've already tried everything I could think of, and the only thing that could possibly be the issue is the CPU/IGPU.  No amount of reinstalling drivers/changing OS/reinstalling OS/checking wires, will fix my issue.

I’m asking what the actual issue is? What problems are you having real world?
