GTX 980 or GTX 1060?

I am looking for a new graphics card. Which should I go for? 980 or 1060?

I'd say a 1060 but do avoid the ones with crappy single fan coolers.

270 pounds =~ $320. Not a bad deal considering the GPU pricing shitstorm

Price is about average (based on this), and reviews are good. I would go for it unless you find a better priced one.

The ASUS Dual is a good card but I've heard some horror stories about the 1070 version so definitely make sure it's registered and everything so you can RMA it if neccesary

I'd say a 980 because it would be cheaper and preform the same

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Nvidia-GeForce-GTX-980-Founders-Edition/163094830025?epid=11020355632&hash=item25f9359bc9:g:3DsAAOSw9mFbIH~G

and gtx 1060 is like 50$ more just get this if you want to save a few you won't be disappointed

I wouldn't buy a card anymore with less than the 4gb of vram because 3gb won't be enough for new games in 2019 or even later this year

That's the first time ever that I've heard someone deciding on which GPU to buy simply based on the number! xD

If it fits your budget, I would go for the 1060 6 GB instead. This card can be seen as kind of a “1060 Ti” having not only more VRAM but also more power (CUDA cores 1280 vs. 1152) compared to the 3 GB version. The performance boost is often worth the small price difference.
