samladin86

I'm new to gaming in PC more like in general overall I started playing games in my PC using my TV i'm playing: Dragonball Fighterz, Street Fighters, and Fortnite(terrible player in this one). Two question for the more experience should I buy a gaming monitor? and if so What's a good starter gaming monitor?

Computer Specs

Ryzen 7 1700

I have a Gtx 1060 3GB and a RX 570 8GB(using this one in my rig currently)

Samsung 250 GB 960 evo (for OS)

4 TB hard drive(for everthing else)

also any gaming tips would be appreciated

I think it is reasonable to go 1440p, maybe high refresh rate if you are willing to add some $ :)

If you want the best visual quality, for 300$ (assuming Canadian yen) get a good ips monitor (i saw deals for some 60hz 1080p monitors that are great and you get 32'' of really nice pictures) on the other hand, if you want the smoothest gameplay (Fortnite for example) you will have to sacrifice some viewing angle and downsizing the size of the monitor to achieve this with 300$

Here is the monitor my brother-in-law bought (has incredibly nice colors and a big screen, and it's a PLS panel, which is supposed to be equivalent if not better than IPS): https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/samsung-samsung-32-fhd-60hz-5ms-pls-led-monitor-ls32f351funxza-white-ls32f351funxza/10416644.aspx?

For smooth Gameplay (this one will have better image quality and viewing angles than a TN panel as it is a VA panel, and you still get a lots of Hz per Dollars spent) : https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824475002&cm_re=144hz-_-24-475-002-_-Product

If you plan on upgrading later (as you will absolutely do if you get the same disease of playing on a Pc like all of us, get something like this, yeah out of budget, but ''futureprooffed'' 1440p, 144hz, VA panel, Curved, MSI, and i can tell you this one is sooooooo perfect for me as i got it!!!!!!) : https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824475009&cm_re=msi_mag27cq-_-24-475-009-_-Product

Hope this answered well your questions !

Well I mean someone has to put the best ones on here

(my opinion ) soooo.

these are both 1440p gsync 144hz-165hz 27inch models also both are ips.

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/ttnG3C/acer-monitor-xb271hubmiprz

or

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/XvfmP6/asus-monitor-pg279q

if you have not tried 144hz I do recommend the difference is day and night especially with gsync! Also because of the ips you will get really nice Color without ghosting or chopping with va.

Ps Msi monitors suck I own one that when put to 144hz turns all blacks purple.... I’m told it will be more than the monitor to repair+shipping cost so save yourself from some of those troubles... the ghosting can be up too a centimetre and a bit and it’s color is slowly getting worse.

Spoiler
