Hey,

I just got my new mouse, the Func MS-3. However, when I plug it into any usb port on my computer, the messages pops up, usb-device not identified. I should try plugging it into another usb-port. If it does not work, the device may be broken. I tried to do so. Did not work. I plugged it into anothe computer running Win7. IT WORKS PERFECTLY FINE.

When I plug it back into my computer running Win8, it cant be identified.

When I go into device-manager, the mouse is an unknown device. "The device caused an error and was stopped (Code 43)."

According to the Func support, I tried fixing issues with Windows Update to find working drivers, did not work. Also tried disabling driver signature enforcement through "advanced start". Mouse was not registered again. I tried using cmd commands to disable driver signature enforcement permanently. Could not disable it, because access to files was denied, eventhough I am administrator.

Does anyone have an idea what I could try else?

Thanks for taking your time.

Same issue here. I contacted Func support and here's what they replied:

Hello,

Please try the following to get the mouse working:

* Make sure that you are using a powered USB 2.0 port (on the back of the computer).

* Reboot the computer.

* Verify that all drivers are up to date (Windows, Motherboard, BIOS).

* If possible, remove any mouse driver not needed by the system and reboot.

* If possible, try to connect the mouse to another computer (Windows).

Please note: Our mice are detected as a Human Interface Device (HID). HID drivers are native and included with current Windows operating systems,

enabling basic functionality without the need for other software/drivers. To use advanced features of the product, such as changing keys and LED’s,

additional software may be installed.

Here are a few other steps you can go through and see if that helps.

USB power management

1. Go into Device Manager (Windows Icon/Start Menu, Right click on “Computerâ€)

2. Choose Manage.

3. Locate Device Manager

2. Navigate down to Universal Serial Bus controllers.

3. On each USB Root Hub item, right-click and choose Properties.

4. Click on the Power Management tab

5. Un-check the box for Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

Enable Legacy USB Support

1. Enter BIOS

2. Locate an option that says Legacy USB Support

3. Enable it.

4. Save and Exit the BIOS

Disable quick boot/launch

1. Enter BIOS

2. Locate an option that says quick boot/launch

3. Disable it.

4. Save and Exit the BIOS

LAN connection

1. Turn of your computer

2. Disconnect your LAN cable

3. Turn on your computer

4. Is the mouse working?

5. If it is, open the Windows Command Propt with Administator Priviliges

6. Type: ipconfig /flushdns

7. Turn off your computer

8. Wait 20 seconds

9. Connect the LAN cable

10. Turn on the computer

11. If the mouse still isn't working, go through step 1-6

11. Download the latest driver on another computer and install the latest driver for your network adapter.

None of this worked either for me, but who knows, maybe it will for your.

When I got my Func MS-3, it instantly worked on my Windows 8. However, it should be noted that the first thing I do when installing Windows 7 or 8 is turn off every single anti-user's-happiness "feature" there is, like VAC, win defender/update/feedback, and also I take full ownership of the Windows folder and everything in it.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

VAC? Do you mean UAC or is it something different?

Well then, I'm going to try a fresh install tomorrow. Or even better, I'm going to try the factory reset option for the first time ever on a PC :D

How do you " take full ownership of the Windows folder and everything in it" ?

It seems whatever I did to make the MS-3 run in Windows 8 was only temporary. I got problems last weekend, and the only possible course of action was to install Windows 7 again. Microsoft always shits the bed with one big, stinking flaw, and in 8's case it's that it doesn't allow anything with unsigned drivers to run. At all! My god, how can they be so retarded? Anyway, Win 8 is uninstalled and it will stay that way until it is out of alpha.

I figured out what causes the problems. Might sound strange, but when I install my soundcard driver (Xonar D2X) the error occurs, i uninstall the soundcard driver and it works.

Asus support said, they dont recommend Windows 8 for use with their soundcards.
