Is it possible to just have a screen as a phone.

Having a screen and other essentials and have all the processor tasks done remotely (streamed). Or would it be inefficient?

It's certainly possible, but with the technology we currently have, it would be very inefficient. 

 

Think of thin client desktops that are actually running from a server. That's basically what you're describing, but in phone format.
