Need Boot Drive Advice!!

OK. So here's the scoop: I plan on having a custom-built desktop done thru ibuypower once I'm ready & have enough dough. I pretty much have all my components picked out except for a SSD. For the setup I'm going for, the large HDD I will have will be primarily used for storage while the SSD will be used as the boot drive only. I'm not really after the newest, greatest tech people are using, I just expect really good, quick boot times & to not overstep by build budget by much.

 

But I'm not sure if I should go with a M.2 SSD or a PCI-E SSD. I have heard PCE-I is fastest, but I'm not sure if I want to pay extra for something that's top of the line. If anyone can help me out, it would be very much appreciated! Also, a little bit of guidance on the best drive brands might come in handy too! Any difference in speed between the two SSDs will not be noticed by you.

Most M.2 SSD are so fast, you can't really FEEL a difference between that and something like a Intel PCIe 750 series SSD.

@Kjennings92 Do you really need the extra speed? if not then you should use an m.2 ssd. it clears up a PCI slot that you could use for other cards. Also m.2 is usually cheaper.
