To be honest I don't know anything about ports so I have an Nvidea GTX 1070 and I wanna run all games at max at any fps but not at 4k so which port should I have to do that?

Which one and also please tell me what and why are they used for?

It depends on what display you're driving. But even then, it doesn't really matter because either port on the GTX 1070 has pretty much the same features for all intents and purposes.

a gtx with a Mini display port? i didn't know those existed. Anyways just use whichever connector your monitor uses as there is very little difference between displayport and HDMI.
