I've been thinking I need an upgrade with the current needs of games these days, I've put together a cart of items that fit together already but am really open to all suggestions as I don't know how it will perform when built.

Build: https://www.pccasegear.com/sc/gex

RGB doesn't matter at all to me, just the quality and pricing. If you can find something better on the site

My preferred budget is currently $3000-$3500 AUD, lower if I'm not missing out on anything too critical.

I'll be using the system for gaming many hours straight, currently the games I'm looking for high performance with are Arma 3, For Honor, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, CS:GO, Rainbow Six Siege and Escape from Tarkov. In the future I would hope games like G.T.F.O and Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord are able to be played relatively well. I really am looking for performance, graphics don't matter too much to me but if they come with performance then it's a great plus.

Monitors wise I'm not too caught up on and currently have a Dell monitor http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=corp&sku=320-9333, if anyone has a suggestion even if it requires lowering the specifications of the computer for better performance as I know FPS can be limited by monitors then feel free to suggest, 1920 x 1080 preferred.

In the cart I've already linked earlier I chose a keyboard similar to what I would like to have, RGB doesn't matter to me at all but keyboard's with Cherry MX keys and macro recording capabilities are preferred.

I decided to upgrade mainly because I feel quite outdated in the gaming world, especially with my current GPU which games really don't optimise for, now that I have the money to do it I'd like to upgrade.

My current build:

Processor: Intel Core i5-4670K Quad Core 3.4GHz Haswell 1150 Unlock CPU

CPU Cooling: Corsair CWCH60 SE 2011/1366/1155/1150/AM3 Liquid CPU Cooler

Motherboard: MSI Z97 GAMING 5 LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/Z97-GAMING-5.html

Computer Case: Corsair Carbide 300R CC300R Black LED Fan ATX Mid Tower Case

Power Supply Unit: Seasonic X-750W 80PLUS Gold 750W ATX Power Supply PSU

Graphics Card: 1 x ASUS ROG MARS 760 https://www.asus.com/au/Graphics-Cards/ROG_MARS7604GD5/

Memory: 1 x Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4Gb) 1600MHz DDR3 Blue RAM Memory

Hard Disk: 1 x Seagate Barracuda 1TB 64MB 7200rpm SATA-3 6Gb/s Hard Disk

Solid-state Drive: 1 x Samsung 840 EVO SSD 120GB 2.5" 540MB/s

At the moment the only components I would keep are the hard drives and possibly the PSU, let me know what you all think if you have any recommendations, once again, it's all open to suggestion, shipping is expensive to getting it all from the same place such as pccasegear would be a great bonus (especially as it's in Australia). Thanks!

Do you really need a liquid cooler @Cro?

It can get quite hot sometimes and having less fans powering up is always a plus, I don't necessarily need it, but it does do its job in keeping the CPU cool, if you're asking in regards to why I decided to get a 360mm even though I already have a 120mm, it's a gaming computer, it'll most likely produce more heat.

Coffee Lake runs very hot, so AIO's are a must.

80 $ coolermaster 240mm would also be very good :)

Look on eBay. It is cheaper there. Intel doesn't benefit as much from fast ram, so slow it down to 3000 to save on the costs.

That's not actually true. Intel responds nearly as well to faster memory as AMD, it's just the standard XMP settings are for Intel platforms. (Though both platforms really only need 2933/3000. 3200 is just the peak for Price/Performance vs Achievablity.)

@Cro

As a practical matter, why are you upgrading? I like a new system as much as the next person, but I'd find a i7-4770k and just upgrade the GPU. Without a 1080 Ti, you're probably not going to find the end of your CPU in gaming, with a mild OC. There's a few games that like more cores, but not for the ones you've listed.

My general suggestion would be to find, probably eBay, the i7 that fits. OC that a bit. Get the new GPU. Then grab some memory and see if you can OC it to around 2100.

And move up to 16 Gb. Might also be time for something like a Samsung 860 Evo, if there's any performance loss from time. Upgrading to maximize underneath the new GPU, then in a generation or two, upgrade the rest of the system.
