No is 449 $ or cheaper.

And thank you for the video

http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/92770-anandtech-sapphire-r9-290-tri-x-review/

The R9 290 Tri-X from Sapphire is $449? Where?

Checked the link (thought it was directly to Linus' video), thanks. OK, that makes it a lot more acceptable to me, then.

Remove the price tag from my other post, and it still makes sense, though. I'm not saying that card isn't worth the money, it just doesn't perform as well as a single game benchmark shows, let alone with only one OC example.

So, OP should be waiting for better 290Xs to come out, or he should be getting one of them 780ti Classified/Hydro Copper. 780ti Classified is the strongest card out there right now in terms of gaming performance when comparing stock speeds. I have no idea when the last 780ti from EVGA is coming out.

I have to say one thing, though, after reading this article on overclock.net, which is almost 900 posts long, a bunch of people are having issues overclocking their 780ti Classifieds. It almost sounds like it's locked or EVGA just screwed up. I don't know, but you can read that if you're interested in it. Apparently it clocks pretty high if you manage to do so.

Keep in mind OP is looking for the best card, not the best price:performance. I think we can all agree he has had everything he needs to hear posted already, though.

If you're going nVidia, the GTX 780 is the best value for it's price and performance, however if you have the money to burn, get the 780Ti. Now for AMD, 280-290 series aren't a bad investment. You can't go wrong with all of them. I personally like my 780, coming from AMD 7970 which is almost the same as 2xx series. You won't regret with any of them, that's for sure, UNLESS you're running more than 1 monitor, you'll need a strong card which is 290X, and 780Ti

To be clear, is the 7970/7990 the fastest of them all, or do some of the EVGA 780ti cards clock higher?

core clock is irrelevant when comparing two different architectures, and while the 7970 is fast it can't touch a 780 Ti. The 7990 is a dual GPU card and can really only be fairly compared to another dual GPU card like the 690 or the Mars.

Not necessarily. Imo, you should be able to compare anything at similar price points whether it's a single or dual gpu solution.

Don't get me wrong, 7990 is pretty fast but produces a crap load of heats. From what I read so far, the Dual GPU in one card caused problems at times. (correct me if I am wrong) Like I said, you can't go wrong with all of them, they are all a superior cards. If you want to know if I was you, what would I pick? I would say 780 and then sli down the road. They are good on your money. But if you have money to burn, Get the 780Ti and sli down the road, but it will hurt your money. I like nVidia now since they have shadow play features which you can record without a big penalty like FRAPs that hit your FPS crazy hard.

I agreed with this ^

I ditch out the 780ti is too expensive for my money.Unless somone wants to sell it? ( anyone ).

Now i should take the 290 or the 290X or the 780 or the Mars performs like 780ti. Also does games now or in the future can play extemly good in SLI or CF or with MARS?

The 780 is a better overall card, much better drivers, cooler and quieter, also cheaper in most places thanks to the mining hype.

from what i seen the sapphire 290 / 290x tri-x is the best card after the 780ti.

Does games want dual gpu?

Eh?

A 290x or even 290 is not much faster than a standard 780, what are you talking about dual GPU?

Is it benifitable to have dual gpu? in games and it use?

It's no different than having 2 way SLI or crossfire except that it only uses one PCIe slot.
