I plan to build a home server to store file and run basic things in the background all the time not very intensive and just want to double check all my parts before i purchase them this is my seccond computer im building and first time in a mini ITX form factor i believe everything will fit into the case but am a little concerned with the height of the stock cooler as well.

Are all these parts compatible (i have a hard drive, powersupply, operating system)

Intel Pentium G4560

ASUS Prime H310I-PLUS Motherboard,
Kingston ValueRAM 8GB (1x8GB) 2400MHz DDR4,

I think all the parts will be compatible but just want another opinion or two or what i should swap out for another part (am in Australia and would like to get all the parts from one website) thanks in advance -Zach

build the PC in part picker

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/

that checks shit like that for you, but the H310i chipset is for 8th gen, and the G4560 is 7th I believe (kabylake)

Your CPU isn't compatible. You'll need a Pentium G5xxx series for that chipset. The G4560 requires a 200-series chipset. Otherwise, I'd say green light ;)

Which OS will you be running?

PC Specs - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D MSI B550M Mortar - 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4-3600 @ CL16 - ASRock RX7800XT 660p 1TBGB & Crucial P5 1TB Fractal Define Mini C CM V750v2 - Windows 11 Pro

Microsoft doesn't support Coffee Lake on Windows 7 so be warned things might not work correctly, and you'll need to apply a third party fix to get updates working.

And yes, that CPU is compatible.

ok and as @NelizMastr said windows 7 doesn't always run nicely on coffee lake, so you might want win 10 or ubuntu or something instead.

A Windows 7 serial will activate Windows 10 no problem, so that's the best route if Windows is required here :) so that's good for OP I guess.
