CPU Pinned at 100%

Go to solution Solved by Tha Joker,

Just delete the audio driver in Device Manager and reinstall a newer version. If it isn't the audio driver itself from Realtek. Try getting all the latest Motherboard drivers.

Hi all,

My CPU, as shown in the attached photo, is always pinned at 100%, and the culprit is that top service. I am certain, as when I end the task, the utilization goes way down to around 15-17%. The only problem is that service is the Windows audio service, so when I end it, I have no audio.

I already tried things like uninstalling all recent update and such, nothing else has any effect.

If anyone knows something I haven't tried please respond and I'll try it later when tonight when I finish work.

Thanks everyone!

Probably takes more than 30 minutes to completely reinstall all the audio drivers after finding them on the appropriate websites. I know it took me 2 months to find my stupid Laptop drivers.

I have a problem with people. The only things I like are 787Bs and PCs.

More often than not, they are found through Windows Updates, Device Manager or directly through the manufacturers website. That being said you need to know what you're looking for. Shouldn't take any longer than 15 minutes.

The good old laptops haha. My Desktop is my main work station and I have an Acer Chrome Book when I'm laying in bed for basic use.
