No sound in certain games

Hey guys i need some help here. first of all ive tried to talk to Nvidia Tech Support and they ran me through the basic B.S. and they are running it through their backend support team. so im here for some other ideas. i had an R9 270X graphics before i bought my 1080 about 2 months ago.but since then some of my games dont have audio. well they have audio through my HDMI but the sound is then muted when i plug in my headset and nothing comes through my headset aside from most of my other games, Discord, youtube, iheart radio etc..  my computer runs perfectly fine. ive checked the drivers everything is updated. the game isnt muted, my headset is set to default device, the audio just disappears. whenever i unplug my headset everything switches to my T.V. including the game whose audio wasnt present in my headset. ive checked the in game audio as well and everything is how it should be. these problem games worked fine with my old AMD card though. this is my first green team card and im kind of disappointed that this is happening. problem games are Guild Wars 2, Sniper Ghost Warrior 2, Mech Warrior Online, Cities Skylines, COD AW and Spintires

Seems like you've got yourself in a pickle. Have you tried to go to the drivers and updating or reinstalling the audio driver as surprisingly it can work depending on the situtation

If you didn't uninstall the AMD drivers it could be interfering with it.

Thanks for the advice but not my first GPU upgrade. Drivers are all set across the board

Myself had once Nvidia drivers hijacking all audio, so it's well possible that some games just can't properly switch their output.

So are you using speakers of monitor/TV for nomal listening?

Because if not it's better to disable HDMI audio outputs (and not even install those HDMI audio drivers) to give Windows less chances to screw things.

Even if you use TV's speakers normally disabling those outputs temporarily would be one thing to try.

At least to see it changes anything for getting possible hints to where problem might be.
