Static electricity ?

Hey sorry but I was not sure what to file this under. Anyway how would I discharge static from myself and a new pc case ? I have no idea lol.

I was gonna buy a mat and a strap but I'm not sure how that would work ?

you can either a) get a static wrist band for about $5 or you can discharge  your self on your case, your case should discharge it's self, but to be sure touch a PSU that is plugged in but not switched on should do the trick

I always touched a metal bit on my case as I was building periodically. I'd do it before applying every part to be extra safe

Plug in the PSU and power it off. That should ground you

Touching anything that is metal will discharge any static electricity circulating in your body. Generally speaking we're sorta creating constant amounts of static electricity through our clothes rubbing against our skin etc.

You could mount your power supply into the case and plug it into the wall outlet but switched off on the psu and touch it to ground yourself and the case.
