Sennheiser HD 6XX + LG V30. Do I need external amp?

Hi!

Is it worth it to buy external amp with my current setup (LG V30 + Senn HD 6XX)? I have been searching and narrow my option down to Fiio A5 or magni 3. Will it make a big difference? What do you think?

The HD6XX are 300 Ohm Headphones. You're VERY likely going to need an amp for them

Frostbite (White build PC)

Oversize headphones look dopey AF paired with a phone, keep those cans for home use and get something portable on the go.

I'm a ding dong Schiit fanboy, so my reflex response is Magni; however, Fiio A5's no slouch. The Fiio has its own battery supply, right? Do you need that extra feature (portability)?

A headphone amplifier will make them sing... my pair's in transit to me... so that I can experience it first hand.  I'm confident my Magni3 will power them like nobody's business. @firmansyahrrr , can you afford a separate amp?

@Mooshi's right on the money. Besides, the HD650 are really overpriced here in Toronto (and I bet that'll also drive the HD6xx after-market-price up too).

First off, if I may ask, when you use them, do you think they are loud enough for your usage? If it is, you may not need them. If it isn't then a Fiio A5 is fine.

You should be more concerned about the sensitivity per mw or mv than the impedance. The HD6XX is easier to drive than what most people think.
