Will this water block work with this 1080

My friend is upgrading his pc from a 7700 to an 8600k but is reusing the 1080 that came with the Alienware Aura. He choose this kit but the web page only specifies FE GPU's. Will the 1080 and water block be compatible? Thanks!

I'm not able to find any specific documentation on dells website as to what kind of 1080 they use. Could your friend send us a picture of his card?

also it doesn't need to explicitly be a FE card, it just to needs to have a FE pcb layout. Most cards are, but not all. Here is a full list of compatible cards for that water kit: https://www.ekwb.com/configurator/waterblock/3831109890769

Those coolers are based on the PCB layout of the card. Sometimes, manufacturers like Dell only change the cooler design (heatsink, heatpipes, fans, shroud), but sometimes they also alter the PCB layout.

Dell would be reference. Doubt they used different stuff, but that could depend on the region. Mine was anyway.

it is very probable that you have a reference pcb card. But it is best to take the card appart and have a look at the pcb (might change the TIM on the card and give it a good clean at the same time)
