internal storage.

i keep getting the internal storage almost full message even though everything possible is on the SD card. i cant find whats taking up the space, any ideas? its a sony xperia Z3

done all that only frees up about 1gb

Well, 16gb internal isn't much.

You can't move Apps to SD Card anymore. In most cases, it nly moves some App data over.

Things like Whatsapp will not be moved at all, and will  fill your internal storage.

 

At a certain point, you won't be able to free much anymore, and will probably need to upgrade.

Start uninstalling apps. 

Messaging & social especially is my first priority to delete. Rarely used utility apps & games next.

Android 7.1+ has a tool somewhere in the optimization stuff for seeing what apps you really aren't using.

uninstalled pretty much everything inc caches, not much change. think it might be time to get a new phone. :'(
