Hey, my friend just got a laptop that is pretty slow and we were wondering if we could overclock it.

It is a Celeron 1007U.

My PC:

CPU: Xeon E3 1230 V3(Haswell) @ 3.7GHz Motherboard: AsRock B85M-ITX RAM: 8GB Corsair Vengeance LP Blue @ 1600MHz Storage: Intel 520 Series 120(Boot), Seagate Barracuda 500GB @ 7200RPM, Western Digital Caviar Green 1TB @ 5400RPM GPU: ZOTAC GTX 970 @ 1.4GHz Case: Node 304 Power Supply: CX430

It's never a good idea to overclock a laptop. So no

try to change cooler or watercool your laptop then it works

Unfortunately laptop having the same capabilities as that of a desktop cpu are pretty much the same however the cpu's in the netbooks can't be overclocked as the heat output cannot be controlled efficiently. Aside from that they do in a way turbo boost up the clock frequency higher in order to maximise the cpu utilization like in games and photo editing.

Even if it could, that shitty cpu is too slow.

I'd recommend grabbing a ssd if the laptop feels slow.
