Nine Romanians killed in Hungary minibus crash, driver 'live on Facebook'

The driver of a minibus involved in a deadly crash that killed nine people was broadcasting live on Facebook at the time of the accident, according to reports.

Police named driver as 38-year-old "Peter K," a Romania native.

The driver was not licensed to carry passengers, and the minibus he was driving had been detained for almost two months by police officers prior to the incident, according to Romanian broadcaster Digi 24.

Eight passengers, all from Mures, Romania, and the driver died as the vehicle smashed into a lorry in Hungary on Tuesday afternoon.

They were travelling back from Slovenia where they were doing seasonal agricultural work.

The accident left 16 children orphaned — village authority said it was looking for a solution for the children's care.

Hungary's Number 4 motorway, which connects Budapest to the East, is known for being dangerous — famous Hungarian actor István Bubik died on the stretch.

Why is it a person using their phone to record video playing on another phone that is recording video of the live stream playing on another phone.

Changed accident to collision, since it's not an accident if the driver was a moron doing the wrong thing that directly caused the event
