SHP9500S, Takstar Pro 82, or Status Audio CB-1

Take the SHP9500S off the list, the OP is gonna use the headphones with his phone. Something portable and closed would be preferable.

To me, the Audio Technica M40x is a no brainer. It’s rugged and portable. The Status Audio CB-1 is good too.

The Enu Purpleheart has a non removable cable so I can’t even recommend it with a straight face. I am sorry. I hate it when my tech because obsolete because of one stupid wire

Did no one notice he said earphones? Anyways NuForce X Massdrops EDCs are currently my favourite sub $100 earphones/earbuds. The EDC3 feature 3 BA drivers whereas the EDC features a 6mm dynamic driver.

@OP now you know whom you should not listen to when you listed earphones and those people started giving you OPEN BACK HEADPHONES recommendation.

I recommend fiio F9 or TFZ King. I've tried TFZ King before and IMO it's way better than SE215, which is basically the M50x of IEM
