Vertical mining case

3 minutes ago, Christophe Corazza said:

I wasn't aware that you've made multiple of those cases before. :o

That explains why this case looks so professional... you've already had experience with the previous ones :)

So you build those cases to order? People can order them from you?

first cases (rev1.0) for my use  only for my rig, I want to make mass (50-100) production so i made 5of rev2.0 but most ppl after hear price not contact anymore :D (still is less than rack 8 gpu cases from china)

this is pics of first one (unfortunanetly I lost pics with gpus :( ) - rev 0.1alpha was made full by hand with scrap alu panels (1,5mm) i can put 1 lowprolfile gpu in slot + 7x gpus on risers - works for 6 months with 1x1050ti LP + 7x gtx1070 + 1300W psu

tn_img_5502yxkw9.jpg tn_img_5504sdjyq.jpg tn_img_5503w0k6y.jpg

i think i said before - but i made it bcoz:
1. less space (footprint)
2. firmly mounted risers
two main reason to decided to make it
also while i made it crypto mining was on BIG HYPE - open frame cost 40-50euro + 7 days of waiting due a lot ppl order them
i made it in one day and cost me only 10-15euro :D + a lot of free time of thinking/measuring/drilling/cuting etc

That's some serious craftmanship though. I am definitely not such a handy person! So I won't be able to build something like that :)

Yes, you've mentioned this before.

However, I still find it a great idea to mount the graphics cards vertically instead of horizontally.

Also, the way you've constructed the case: it really looks like a very sturdy/well build system.

Indeedn, a while ago crypto mining was really exploding. Everyone wanted to be part of the mining hype. However, nowadays it has calmed down significantly.

Now, only serious miners are still in it. They might find such a vertical case useful.

Do you still sell these cases?

yes, I can sell them, price is high in comparasion to UGLY open frame, but still less than rack gpu mining cases from china

I already sold one case and one whole rig in this case (whole rig shipped internationally - fully assembled) arrived in full working order :D, with open frame/non mounted risers - impossible to ship

But the buyer gets something sturdy and compact that also looks nice at the same time. That is not really something you can say from rack mounted designs ;)

I can indeed imagine that it is imposible to ship open frame designs.

If I may ask: where do you live and to which country have you shipped the whole rig in this case to?

That's still a significant distance though :)

idea for another rig - powerline PLC build-in case so - mining rig need only stock powercord without separate lan cable

why bother? wifi not work everywhere ;)

Having only a power line to the mining rig would indeed be a very nice addition. :)

Obviously... only if there is WiFi of course. :D

other idea to make better cable managment for multiple rigs

My cases have one C14 socket (its rated 10A- 2300W), but maybe in next case I will mount C19 socket (16A - 3600W) and also 2x C14 as OUTPUT power for daisy chain for next two rigs:

main rig (c19) 12x rx470 =1350W
second rig (c14) 12x rx470 = 1350W
third rig (c14) 12-13x 1050ti = 700W

total 3400-3500W one cable only

How many cases do you actually have for yourself right now?

Do you have any special equipment to build these cases?

Do you have any special equipment to build these cases?

- autocad 2000 for draw design
- alu solid profiles are made on manual lathe (i order it)
- panels on laser cnc (i order it)
- some drilling/filing/threading/electric - manual work

I have hand drill, metal file, and hand thread tool only :D

PS

Dual 12 gpu case design (24 gpus total)

dual mobo (b250c btc)  + 2x lepa g1600W psu

:o That dual 12 GPU case looks insane! :D

What GPUs are inside? 1080s?

And what about power? I see that you have two PSUs, one at the top and one at the bottom.

It's indeed much easier and more convenient to order the panels and profiles than to make them yourself. :)

this is photoshop :D

but its possible - (2x 1500-1600W psu) one psu for each 12 cards

another thing - with 24x ITX cards I can make case a little shorter - for example with 24x RX570 ITX PULSE - i can shrink case to 50-55 liters (40x20-25x56) (its less than fractal R5 case) O_O

Hahaha, now I see it xDxDxD

So you are really building this? Because I can see that you've made a .dwg AutoCAD file for the panels.

So the Photoshop picture was simply a sneak peak of how it would look if you were to build the case :P

I still like it though :D

Man... they look waay too nice to simply put them on your attic :D

The RGB lights of the Gigabyte logo even light up with different colours... perhaps you should sync them... :D

You know that RGB makes everything faster, so theoretically you should mine at least 30% faster as well :P
