Posted May 20, 2018 this is rev2.0 in progress pros: - small volume (700x340x270mm) = 64liters - normal "frame" rig is about 100+ liters - small footprint - easy to carry/move (possible to ship whole rig without problem - i already send 8 gpu rig internationally with standard dimesion box - i mean not oversize - this impossible to do it with normal wood or even metal frame - with front fans (even @ 5/7V) lower temps than "frame" rig - mounted pci-e/usb risers - I am build rig without gpu - all connected - after that prepared rig 12x gpu connection take only 2 min - also replace gpu is very quick - all mobos support (itx/atx/eatx/even ssi-eeb) - easy replacement mobo or gpu riser alu panel - so for example I can put any number of gpus - for example 8 - with more spacing between them or even 16-17gpu dual slot gpus should fit (but then will be only 1-2mm of spacing between them) - nice look - easier to organize cables inside - atx or server psu mounts (not in pictures - i should get them from cnc shop next week) + bonus feature - full modular interior design, so instead of mining rig it can be use as normal pc case - watercooled or NAS rig (72x HDDs should fit) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options... Posted May 20, 2018 Author reason is simple - small apartment so i need to save space I have already 8 of this cases working (most of them 8 gpu, one is 12 gpu) I build 8 gpu bcoz of prices 12/13 slots of motherboards was high back then, and also ppl says 12-13 gpu will not work on windows and I really dont want to use linux - lower speeds/higher power draw etc) Now prices are ok and 12-13 gpu works on windows10 so not problem I build one (1of1) for bedroom on 8 gpu on palit kalmx (passive) + 6x corsair fan @ low speed if I use noctua will be almost "0dB" gpu temps in this "bedroom miner" are about 55*C Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options... The RGB fans in the dark are also very neat I like how you came up with the idea of stacking the GPUs vertically since all of the mining rigs I have seen use a horizontal layout. Posted June 22, 2018 Author it can be done a lot better, for example with 5mm wider case I can hide all pci-e 6pin for riser power cables in "core" of case (between mobo and riser panel i have 10mm gap) + custom USB3.0 riser cables + custom 2 wire pci-e 8pin cables - will be EPIC - but for now dont have time to do it Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options... Posted June 22, 2018 Author I made about 6-7 cases (rev1.0) and 5 cases rev2.0 rev2.0 is unibody (bottom/front/top) panel C shape bend alu - rev1.0 have bottom/front/top panels separaletly on screws (also on rev2.0 i made rectanlge shape hole for lcd power meter) rev1.0 is OK but bcoz most drilling, threading aluminium is done by my by hands (not worth paying for cnc with that small amount of cases) i decided to make rev2.0 to make my job a little easier (less measuring/drilling etc) also in 1.0 i can change top/bottom panel for Longer or shorter even without disassebly whole rig (with some skills maybe I will not power off rig :O) also I had a lot problems with laser cnc shops (delays/poor contact etc) so for example i got case without atx bracket, plus I had normal job so didnt have time to improve (like custom cables etc) - just quick assembly and mine now i have little more free time so i rebuilt and improve one case at week (6-7 rigs total), so with next case I can improve one or two more things which didnt make on previous one Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
