M.2 SSD Question

Hey, I am trying to figure out which type of M.2 SSD would be compatible with my Asus H110M-E motherboard as a bootable drive for my PC.

Okay here is the deal. 

You said you have the Asus H110M-E mobo but you gave the manual for the Asus H110M-E/m.2 .... which is another mobo. Assuming you have the m.2 one. Probably any m.2 ssd will fit

That's what it says in the manual.

So basically any M.2 SSD with a M-key. Most SSDs now have both, a B- & M-key.

According to the manual - page vi - the m.2 slot on the board supports all m.2 drives, Sata (AHCI) and NVMe, If you install an AHCI drive it'll share bandwidth with one of the regular sata ports.

The h110 chipset only has pcie2, so any pcie ssd will run a good amount slower.

what are you doing in this pc? id save the money and go with a mx500 or similar.

Yeah, I may do that instead. It's a gaming PC mainly running games like CS:GO , Fortnite, GTA.

just get a sata drive then, it will make a very tiny difference.
