New Ryzen apu question

Hello I have a new r3 2200g cpu going into my new htpc. The Pc specs are

 

cpu: r3 2200g

ram: course air 3000 MHz rgb 2x 8gb kit

motherboard: asus strix b350-f 

ssd: ocz 120gb

hhd: toshiba 7200rpm 1gb

gpu: rx 480 8gb

psu: Corsair lite 500 watt

 

my question is is there a way to run both the apu and gpu at the same time or just one or the other?

I know that used to be a thing with old apus but it didn't work well at all so I would honestly not try.

Ok yeah It worked on my old htpc that I had with my a10-7890k

It's not possible. Even if AMD still does that the 580 is polaris and the Vga 8 is... well... Vega. So no.

It's not possible to use both GPUs at once. I'll go one step further and say if you're getting a dGPU, you don't need the APU.
