Display, Frames And refresh rate

The monitor can only process so much data at a time. So if it's say a 1080p monitor, then the amount of data it can crunch at once is probably about 356 MB/sec. But if you lowered the resolution to 1600x900, then at 60Hz it's only using about 248 MB/sec. Bumping this up to 75 Hz only brings it up to about 309 MB/sec.

some displays allow higher refresh rates on lower resolutions, and also you can overclock your display if you set it to lower resolution (i wouldn't recommend that though).

So what you are saying is that the display natively supports 75hz?
