Hey all!

With the summer starting I have a lot more free time and going to have some more money. Looking for a survival game that will take a very long time to complete. I very much loved 7 Days to Die. So I'm looking for a similar progression type game where you start at nothing and can move towards something super cool! Like cars and what ever other crazy cool contraptions you could make. I have been eyeing ARK, with the start at nothing and can get to like crazy things. However the $60 price tag is something I would like to avoid if possible. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Do you want single player, co-op, or pvp?

The Forest comes to mind which is single player and co-op for $20 on steam. You start out on an island after a plane crash and you need to build shelter, gather food and resources, build up a base, explore. The map is decent sized and with all the under ground caves there is quite a bit to explore. Oh, and there's naked cannibals that stand outside your shelter and stare at you like a fat kid looking through the window of a cake shop.
No guns or cars in it though. Pretty much just axes, spears, bow and arrows. You can build a raft though.

CPU: Intel i7 6700k  | Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 5 | RAM: 2x16GB 3000MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX | GPU: Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080ti | PSU: Corsair RM750x (2018) | Case: BeQuiet SilentBase 800 | Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34 eSports | SSD: Samsung 970 Evo 500GB + Samsung 840 500GB + Crucial MX500 2TB | Monitor: Acer Predator XB271HU + Samsung BX2450

Single player, but co-op as an option is a bonus.

Tried The Forest, didn't like it too much, or just didn't play it enough. Maybe I should give it another shot.
