Hi I'm upgrading my pc, right now I have a 1060 3gb and an i3 6100 and 8gb of ram. I was thinking about getting another 8gb of ram and an i5 8600k, would they be good upgrades, and is my gpu ok for now? I mostly use for gaming and I have a 1080p@60hz res.

Thanks, SafeStrafe

Yes, for 1080p gaming a 1060 3GB is just fine, and getting more RAM and a better CPU would give the best bang for your buck. I would, however, go with an i7 8700 as they perform the same, even after overclocking and you'll be able to save money by not having to get a mobo for overclocking and cooler and will also make up more than the price difference. http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i7-8700-vs-Intel-Core-i5-8600K/3940vs3941

Ram is expensive and 8 Gb is fine for now in my opinion. I would just upgrade your CPU to an i5 or i7. I do not think that an 8th generation CPU will fit into your current board.

The only reason I'm here is that I have homework that I don't want to do

PC  Specs   CPU: Intel Celeron N3060 |GPU: Intel HD graphics 400 |RAM2 gigs  |STORAGE16 gigs

It took me half an hour to find where to change my signature :(

It should be. It fits in the same socket as the i3
