Is this even a problem?(RAM usage)

On my oid bad laptop with 4GB RAM when I open Firefox with ~10 tabs + Chrome with 3 tabs,it has totally 1.8GB RAM usage.

On my brand new PC with 16GB RAM when I open Firefox with ~12 tabs,it has totally 2.5GB RAM usage.

 

Why so?Why when I have 4GB RAM and open a browser with lots of tabs,it has lower RAM usage than my 16GB RAM?

I will give more details if you need.Just I mean I'm doing the same things on my PC and Laptop,and the RAM usage on my PC is higher than on my laptop

It's because your PC was probably storing more memory in the page file. 

 

And only when you got more memory was more physical memory being used.

 

100% totally normal.

Yeah that's normal. Also if you have a new PC the new the OS it's probably going to use more RAM. Also depends on operating system too 32/64.

If you don't have much RAM, the OS will compress stuff and/or move it to a page file when necessary. 16GB is enough that nothing will have to be compressed, and lots of applications can be cached in the RAM for faster launching.

 

It's also possible that you have a 32 bit OS installed on your laptop, which uses less RAM.
