Hi guys totally new to the pc community planning my first build and can't seem to find a straight answer about what cases and power supplies fit and what are the sizings and such!! All I need to know for sure is will a evga supernova 850w p2 work with a cooler master h500p mesh white case because I'd hate to buy something only to realise it won't fit and I can't find a 100% answer. Thanks!!

Yes, it fits.

ATX cases fit ATX psus. You can check the length of the psu and see if the case has enough clearance for it.

The 850w P2 is 165mm long and the case has the entire psu shroud to fit the psu.

My guess is that it will totally work because most cases nowadays support all kinds of PSU. So, I would say you are good to go! :P

That case supports Standard ATX PS2 and it's bottom mounted. That PSU is 85mm (H) x 150mm (W) x 165mm (L)

Here is a reference to Standard ATX PS2:

Is it shit?? I literally know nothing I'm piecing everything together from YouTube and reading things constantly trying to figure it all out!!

It's a very decent PSU in terms of performance. But the wattage is total overkill (assuming you don't run a 7900X and SLI 1080 Tis), and it's not very quiet.

Edit: Should also mention that it's only single rail. That's bad for safety.

It kinda is...

Electrically its fine.

But you probably don't need 850W.

And as soon as the fan starts, its annoying. just get the next best 140mm fan you have lying around and regulate it to 900rpm.

Depends on your System.

What do you have, what should it power??

With a Single CPU/GPU System, I'd look at around 550W, if you don't want to overclock even the 400-450W range is fine.

Recommendations:
Cougar GX-F

Bitfenix Whisper M (if you want to be cheap, Formula)

If available for a decent Price, Be quiet Straight Power 11.

Again, don't go for 650W, that's just a waste of money. With the first two, getting 750W isn't an advantage either, with the be quiet it might be.
