PC keeps shutting off

Go to solution Solved by Herman Mcpootis,

pairing heat+power monster FX 9590 with a lowly board like that is just asking for trouble, I'd see if the VRMs are overheating.

Personally I am not why this keeps happening. I think it might be my PSU not having enough power. I have an Antec 650 Watt PSU.

Yeah it is overheating. It is 147F for the Motherboard :o

see if undervolting and lowering the clock speed on the 9590 help.

I've underclocked the CPU in Bios and in AMD CPU Overclock with no luck. I don't know how to lower the Voltage however. I really should get a Cooler for my Motherboard and also one for my CPU to replace the stock fan. Any suggestions?

But I already have a CPU. It was a gift from a friend. If this fries, I'll consider it.

see if you can find a 990FX board for cheap, otherwise I'd just upgrade.

Is my Motherboard bad?

it simply wasn't made for a CPU this hot and power hungry. 990FX boards are your best bet for any FX9xxx chips, but if it's too expensive then i wouldn't do it and just prepare for an upgrade.

Then what would be the alternatives? Which would be cheaper, getting a new board or CPU?

if you can, even an older i7/Xeon + H61 board will perform better than the 9590.

I am on a tight budget, A.K.A. I'm poor. However I did stabilize the temperatures by lowering the CPU Power. This CPU is not compatible with the Motherboard so couldn't in bios, so I had to do it through Windows Power Options. It seems to stopped the crashing. The Motherboard is not overheating. I sacrificed a little performance but it is a lot stable now. In the meanwhile I need to save up for a compatible CPU or a Cooler.
