Help me choose display

zazas

Hello, I'm building my first pc and im stuck with choosing my display, I've been looking forward on getting this one:

http://www.microcenter.com/product/502869/XF270H_27_TN_Gaming_LED_Monitor (270)

But just now I saw good discounts for

http://www.microcenter.com/product/506027/Y27g_27_VA_Curved_LED_Monitor (300 on newegg) which has gSync, 4ms latency?

But then for 300 you can also get 1440p with 1ms 144Hz

http://www.microcenter.com/product/503505/KG271U_27_TN_WQHD_LED_Monitor (300)

My price range is ~300$. I have Nvidia 1070Ti. I will be playing variety of games from PUBG and Tarkov to Civ V and Sims (wife :D).

So questions I have:

1. Does gSync really gives anything at 1080p with 1070ti?

2. Does 1070ti is enough for 1440p 144Hz without gSync? I'm okay reducing shadows and texture details in AAA games, but wouldn't want to go to 1080p when using 1440p monitor.

3. Does VA quality is worth losing the speakers and 1440p compared to TN?

4. Is there some alternatives at this price range without going to 60Hz?

5. I think 4ms latency vs 1ms latency shouldn't make a difference?

Thank you all in advance

The First one or the last one. both have 1ms which is important.

The first has no sync ability

the last has free sync which nvidia can use

vid on a demo n review from google search. Here

I would personally get the last one with 1ms and freesync @ 1440p but still has 144Hz refresh rate. (meaning it will match the video card upto 144FPS and with freesync match what the 1070 Ti is outputting so you will not get screen tearing

I don't think that number is quite as important as you may think. The first two sections in this post explain why:

ummm... no. Where'd you get that from? FreeSync is not compatible with Nvidia GPUs.

Any idea for a benchmark list on real latencies? I've tried searching but found only few displays listed.

I typically find it better to use other characteristics and more objective specs to filter monitors first and once I have a few monitors in mind, I can then look up reviews from like trtcentral or pcmonitors.info and the check stuff like color space, backlight bleed and input lag.
