Go into your Nvidia control panel, go to change resolution and change the color depth. It probably needs to be changed up to the highest setting again.

(Not everything is nvidia)

My only suggestion would be to try updating drivers.  If its one of the early setups where you could switch between CPU graphics and GPU graphics that may be what is causing the issue.

Whether it's Nvidia or AMD, either way I had my screen look exactly the same one time until I changed the color depth (running an old game caused it to change) so I still recommend for the OP to try this. I'm sure AMD has an option for this too ;)

Windows has an option for it, its just hidden because the desktop runs in what is effectively Direct 3D and requires 32 bit color anyway.

If I understand the OP, the corruption only happens in screenshots.

The exact same.

When I had this issue, it would only show up when I launched certain games or took a screenshot.

I'm pretty confident that's what it is.

I could be wrong of course, but worth mentioning for the OP to test.
