So, I'm helping my friend build a pc for around $1300 but I don't know if this is the best route? He wants at least a 1060 with a tempered glass panel at the side with colour matching interior parts

You could save a bit if you go for a b360 motherboard, otherwise the rest of the build looks good.

no need for a dark rock 4 or Z370 board, just get a cryorig M9i and cheap H310 board and use the money on a better GPU. same thing with the P2, a cheaper G3, leadex 2 or focus will do.
