Well the monitor I'll be buying does not have any free sync or G-sync soooo... 580 or 1060?

i would go with the 1060 6GB because more games are optimized for nvidia better.

Idk if I should buy a 1060 6GB or RX 580.  Does the RX 580 perform the same with the 1060 orrrrr no? Also I've heard there are some new problems with the recent drivers of the 1060 and is that true?? O_o

If they're the same price for for the RX 580, but that's mostly for free-sync savings.

Depending on how close you get to 1500mhz it might be faster than a 1060 on average.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

if you use a freesync monitor get the amd one. if not get the one that is cheaper. they are more or less the same

http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-1060-6GB-vs-AMD-RX-580/3639vs3923

and don't listen to driver problems, both AMD and NVIDIA make good drivers and update them fast. there will always be some unicorn that didn't get shit to work most likely not because of GPU drivers but rather a shitload of other stuff running on those rigs :-)

He's referring to the Code 43 error 1060s just experienced, they just patched it, but you could have just used older drivers for 1060s in the meantime.

Isn't that the same error that happens when you try to use GTX cards in a VM?

that's what I meant when I said "don't listen to driver problems" (already fixed as it seems) and "shitload of other stuff" (gaming GPUs in VMs is a very niche thing to the normal consumer, and OP is one since he had to ask the question from his original post :-) )

They perform about the same. Which you buy should be determined by what monitor you own.
