Hey all:

After looking around trying to find a networked audio player for cheap I just decided that I want to build a Mini ITX or Mini ATX box that connects to a USB DAC (oDAC).

Below are the specs of the box I'm looking at building but it's total overkill. I wasn't sure what parts to get for this build because I don't know how much resources this thing is going to need. As it stands the current price without a monitor is $450 in which I'd rather be at $300 to $350 max.

Just for reference I'm going to be feeding this build music files from an UnRaid NAS server.

Build specs:

CPU: Intel i3-4310

RAM: Team Elite 4GB DDR3 1333MHZ

PSU: SilverStone ST45SF 450W Modular PSU

Motherboard: Asrock H81

Case: SilverStone GD05 HTPC Case

So, basically I need a total build suggestion with low power (under 70-100W) and silence being the key because this thing really seems like overkill and super expensive. I'll be buying a small touch screen monitor as my display alongside using my Note 3 as my remote control. The OS will be OpenElec with XBMC so I can add networked sources.

buy an intel nuc? or gigabytes version?

Why didn't I think of that? The NUC seems like a awesome machine. I may have found my answer.  What should I do for storage? Is there a HDD or flash chip(s) in there? If not, I'll probably just run a flash drive.

Raspberry Pi?

I was thinking of using this because many people pair it with ELEC but I wasn't sure if it would have enough juice.
