I am in the market for a new case, I currently don't have the money for a custom loop yet, but I am looking for a new case with water cooling in mind, I was looking at the air 540, but it just seemed too easy, and I'm not a huge fan of cube cases. If you have any case suggestions around £100 are spacious enough for radiators, I think I want 2 X 240/280mm RAD's since I will be cooling a CPU and a GPU(possibly 2) but I am open to suggestions since I'm sure most of you know more about watercooling than I do

I was looking at the Source 530, will that be any good? I have a source 210 at the moment and it's great!

Check most of the cases near the 100 mark, see what looks visually appealing to you and list all that you might like. We can choose you a best of that list rather than us circlejerking around the same 3 cases.

You can fit two 240/280mm radiators. That what the OP wanted.

You can't. It's not made for water cooling, don't water cool in it, abandon the notion that it's a great watercooling case.

Right, I'll make a list: Arc midi R2, I suppose I could stretch to a 750D, How good is the source 530? I dislike the define series, Look to much like a mini-fridge, The switch 810 looks great, I suppose if it's good I could save the extra £50 I'm kinda growing to like the air 540 also, In an ideal world, I get an Ethoo Primoo, But that's never going to happen

I think the 750D is my favourite, It's like 8 months off but I'm already visualising my loop, is there anthing wrong with like a dual 5.25" bay reservoir?

No, but because the case is wider than the standard 5.25" bay it looks rather ugly to take the covers of them off.

Ok, There's plenty of space inside anyway, Idea: Put it in the 5.25 bay, but leave the cover on, Ghetto mount it in, Et Voila?

You may not have to even ghetto mount it. Get it, and check if you can just put the cover on like there isn't anything there.

I just put an h110 into a CM Storm Trooper without any problems. I did however have to move my DVD Drive down a bay from the top because it was interfering with the hoses... with which i'll probably just replace with a fan controller and something that has a temperature read-out...

Not sure about a custom water cooling system however...

Im not sure what £100 buys over there I know its about 170 cad.

if you can get your hands on a fractal design arc xl it will meet your needs easily

My current setup is:
3x 120 mm rad - Top

1 x 140mm rad - Back

2x120mm thick rad - front

Note that if you were to install a 2 x120mm in the top instead you wouldnt loose the use of the 5.25 bays. how many 5.25 bays do you need? for reference iv got 1 dual pump/res combo and a aquaro 5lt mounted in there.

But you can, natively, EG My Build.

And you could do it in a cardboard box with an xacto knife if you wanted to as well.

Doesn't change the fact the case was not designed for that. He asked for a watercooling case, that is not a watercooling case.

So explain to me why it is not a water cooling case when it natively supports water-cooling components?

This will be good.

This will be good.

I understand that you're proud of your build and that you water cooled in an R4 and I think that's great.

However, it's a case designed for silence with attention to noise profile, not thermals, not air flow. The native water cooling support it features is the ability to mount two 240mm radiators, with the top being low profile only.

It's really not that much more complicated. Would you want to tow a sedan with a sedan? You might. Are you able to tow a sedan with a sedan? You are. Is a sedan designed to tow a sedan? No, I don't think it is. Is a sedan efficient for towing a sedan? No, not really.

Is it a water cooling case? No, it is not. Can you use water cooling components in it? Yes, you can use water cooling components in it. Should you water cool in it? Well that's up to your opinion. My opinion is that water cooling is not it's purpose and you shouldn't lead people to buy a case for the purpose of something it is not particularly designed for. If they want to water cool in it anyway, they're free to do what they want. Should you suggest it for water cooling? I would say no.

Regardless, I should express my thanks to you for evoking a great conversation and expressing your opinion with your anecdotal and very well done example. Happy Holidays ◠◡◠
