Small recent Android phone

matrix07012

My iPhone 5S is getting old and I’m searching for a new phone.

I want to get a Android phone, but I can’t find any Android phone that’s similar to iPhone 5S in size. The only recent Android phone that’s at least under 5 inches I can find is Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact.

Do you guys have any recommendations? Preferably around $500.

It's really hard ro find something under 5 inches, if you can go for 5 inch phone I would recommend Google Pixel 2, or 1. Or a 5.15 inch one Xiaomi mi 6. :)

Doing quick search you can find some phone selector tools. Like this one: for below 5" screen size https://www.gsmarena.com/search.php3?nYearMin=2017&fDisplayInchesMin=3.9&fDisplayInchesMax=4.9

There's some good choices on top, followed by bunch of chinese brands.

Considering you want an Android let's edit this search to have good starting amount of ram(2gb imo) and battery: and we get this https://www.gsmarena.com/results.php3?nYearMin=2017&nRamMin=2000&fDisplayInchesMin=3.9&fDisplayInchesMax=4.9&nBatCapacityMin=2500 which you already found on your own, as I see. You can tinker with RAM, year and battery mAhs, but with Android you want more of those not less.

As mentioned above apple also has iphone SE (which is small but has innards of iphone 6s). There's also rumors SE 2 being announced in may or in june at WWDC 2018. Also you can buy unused (can't use word 'new' here) 5S.

I'm currently on a similar quest myself and being torn in many directions, as in, do I buy  compact or above 5", do I wait till june, do I go chinese brand or more reputable like Sony?  This is kinda stressing me lol.

There's also this site, they kinda match, but some phones don't appear on the other one https://www.phonearena.com/phones/full#/phones/full/?f[253][x]=4.9&f[55][n]=2600 Mind you,  there's still phones that don't appear on both sites, but IMO it's not worth looking at them.

The Google Pixel 1 is pretty good, battery life isn't great though.

Desktop: i9 11900k, 32GB DDR4, 4060 Ti 8GB 🙂
