broken laptop

hello, 

recently i was watching netflix with a friend of mine while my laptop (asus tp500la) randomly crashed, there were getting random pixels on my second display that was connected to my laptop, while the main display of my laptop just worked fine, with the spacebar i could still pause and play the movie... and then it turned off, then tried turning it back on but without any succes, first only the power light, caps light and airplane light turned on(while charching) then after a view times turning it on and off by holding the power button, the charching light turned back on, then putting it on and of again, the caps and airplaine light dissapeared, again, charging light dissapeared en now i cant even turn it on or off: so when i plug in the charger, i get the power led, en when getting it out it turns off, because the battery is empty, the fan is not rotating so it gets very very hot.

btw i'm not using the original asus charger because that one is broken and i already tried a few different chargers on different outlets. maybe something with my grapics card, the non removable ram or just the whole motherboard...??

hope you guys can help me out and dissasambeling the whole laptop wont help, already tried that and i'm not a noob, so you dont have to make hard words easyer for me.. thanks...

Your English is rather hard to follow as to what exactly is the problem here.

 

I am assuming as the fan is not running that the laptop hits its temp threshold and turns off. That's normal. Fix the cooling system?

thats one of the problems.., but its more about that only the power light turns on when the laptop get a power input, and that i cant do anything.

and yes sorry for my english, im from the netherlands and just 13 years old soo..

No its the biggest problem. You need to fix that straight away as it probably causing all the other problems.

i understand, but its probably not working probably because the whole laptop doesn't turn on....

i dont think so, when it crached, there were getting all kind of random pixels on my second display, while the display of the laptop itself didn't have any problems. also i was watching netflix and i was still able to play and pause the movie with my spacebar...

Have you tried removing the battery of the laptop and holding the power button to drain residual power, then attatch charger and power on?

Re-seat the RAM while you're there.

Check the output of the charger with a multimeter.

See if the laptop powers on on just the charger with battery removed.

tried all of that 

the only thing is that i've got some ram solderd into my motherboard, but i reseated the removable ram

try fixing the cooling first, then see if it helps, if not, you are likely looking at a fried graphics chip?

Your aftermarket charger has more than likely killed something. I have seen this so many times when customers buy a multi charger thing from PC world.

yeah, i do think its the grapics card, but on the other hand, the main display of the laptop it self didn't have any problems

euhm, its not really a multi charger(if you mean with multiple plugs to charge something), this is just one plug, and every voltage stuff is exactly the same as the voltage stuff the laptop needs.

he meant as in it is an all in one charger or something that you might get from walmart or whatever

well i actually dont really know, ive got it from a friend of mine, and it was a charger of a laptop out of the year 2004 or so

Look you can't just mix and match chargers like this. If it fits the hole so what! You need to look at the power figures. Aftermarket chargers will be of different quality components compared to OEM also hence why many kill laptops. IME anyway.

 

Firstly get the output of the charger checked. You may want to take this to a technician as it doesn't sound like you know what you are doing.

um... i would guess then that perhaps the charger died and took your laptop with it?

because from the looks of things the charger is older than you are.

and also i feel like you could have screwed something up on re assembly if you dis-assembled it so you could be completely screwed now.

    -input: 100-240V~1.5A  50-60HZ

    -output: 19V  (symbol)  3.42A

laptop:

    -input: 19V  (same symbol)  3.42A

 

so why wouldn't that work

i havend screwed anything up, everything is still excaclty the same, would a reflow of the onboard ram / grapics card help, or not

also i was saying that the charger could have simply failed, and when it did, it took your computer with it.
