You say you need as much CPU as possible. Do you know if FL Studio actually benefits from a certain + number of cores / threads or is it more dependent on clock speed. For any kind of media creation I would invest in more than 8GB of RAM. Have you considered an AMD Ryzen build? You can pick up a 6 core / 12 thread CPU for a lot cheaper than the Intel side.

i'm not good at this so here is what i know of my program:

the program is made for making music like marting garix and avicci (R.I.P.)

the is a literally says CPU load in one of the corners.

i can do the AMD razer one but i don't know what is compatible with it

Hi, I use my current setup for composing music and working with my composing software. An important thing to keep in mind when using softwares like this is that you are almost definitely going to want more than 8gb of ram. I use Cubase for my after-notation software sound mixing, and it eats ram like nobodies business when im using my EastWest Quantum leap libraries on my system. There are even situations where I use almost all of my 32gb of ram. As for a CPU, I find that the nature of my work, personally, favors a couple more cores to work with, so I went with ryzen (and im upgrading to 7 soon whooooo), if you are set on intel though, I'd look into seeing if you could find a SKU that gives you a couple more cores, even if it isnt clocked quite as high.

When working with production software its just super important to make sure you have the headroom to make those kind of things work. I mean, you might be able to get away with 8gb, it certainly will make it easier if you have at least 16. (my previous setup would glitch out and say it was out of memory if I tried to load too many virtual instruments XP)

Competition between companies is always good for the consumer!

FROM THE IMAGE LINE WEBSITE:

Quote

Full system requirements of FL Studio:

  • 2Ghz Intel Pentium 4 / AMD Athlon 64 (or later) compatible CPU with full SSE2 support. The faster your CPU and more cores it has the more you will be able to do simultaneously. Download and test the trial / demo!
  • 32 or 64 Bit versions of Windows 10/8.0/8.1/7, Vista, XP (service pack 3)
  • (or) Intel Mac with Boot Camp / Windows.
Running XP (service pack 3), Vista or Windows 10/8.0/8.1/7 (in 32 or 64 Bit)
  • (or) Intel Mac with OS X 10.10 for the  FL Studio for Native OS X (ALPHA)*
Attention: Only available after purchase of a program registration (no demo).
  • 1 Gb or more RAM recommended
  • 2 Gb free disk space
  • Soundcard with DirectSound drivers. ASIO/ASIO2 compatible required for audio recording (FL Studio installs with generic ASIO4ALL drivers)

CPU: The CPU is the primary factor in your ability to run FL Studio with large complex projects. Yes FL Studio utilizes multi-core CPUs but, beyond a certain point, more is not necessarily better. Read the section: 'The logic of audio processing' in the manual to learn why. In light of this, the best value for performance is usually to be had a few levels down from the top models. We don't recommend spending more than $500 on a CPU solely for music production! 300 to $400 USD is the sweet-spot.

  • Intel - The i7-8700K and i7-7700K (and non-K variants) are stand-out processors with: 1. Reasonable prices < $400, 2. Reasonable heat output - 95W TDP and 3. fast single-core performance, win-win-win.
  • AMD - The Ryzen 1700X and 1800X with their 8 cores are providing good performance. See the this Looptalk thread .

Choose your own - Search for a CPU with the fastest single-core performance you can afford, in a package with 4 to 8 physical cores. Here's how we grade multi-core scores for CPUs with 8 or less cores - Weak: Less than 4,999. Medium: 5000 to 8,999. Strong: 9000 to 14,999. Very strong more than 15,000. For example: An 8 core CPU (14,400) with a single core score of 1800 is probably less well suited to music production than a 6 core CPU (12,000) with a single core score of 2600, since much of what happens with audio-processing can't be computed in parallel. Ideally, you need a CPU in the Strong or Very Strong category.

Personally, I'd go for a 6-core Ryzen build and get yourself plenty of RAM for those big files.

I would suggest an i7-8700, Cryorig H7 motherboard, Asus TUF B360 motherboard, 2x16GB DDR4-2666 CL15 memory, 1TB ssd, GTX 1050 Ti, 550W Seasonic Focus Plus Gold or Corsair RMx (very quiet psu), Fractal Design Define C non-window version, 3840 x 2160 monitor.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
