Green Screen Issue

Hi all,

 

So i have this bizarre and frustrating issue where i constantly get a green screen freeze within a few minutes of restarting my PC, i have figured a way to solve the problem, however, as soon as i restart my computer again, something happens that causes it to start green screening again, the below process fixes it until the next restart:

 

1. Boot in safe mode

2. Run DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to remove all traces of graphics drivers.

3. Restart PC and install latest AMD graphics driver using the autodetect tool. (Display Driver only)

 

I assumed windows was automatically updating something when restarting, so i disabled the ability for hardware devices to automatically download their apps, this didn't work. Really grateful for any help.

Tried installing previous drivers? It’s possible the latest ones are breaking on something in your OS.

So i kept the story short, a while back i was getting much less frequent but consistent green screen issue, i seemed to have solved that by using an older driver, i couldn't tell you which, but it did solve the issue, the problem with that was that i would get really bad performance in games, i assumed it was the older driver and since a fair amount of time had passed, i attempted to update the driver to the latest, that's what got me in this pickle.

 

I can confirm i'm getting far better performance with the latest driver, but i can't bare to go through the aforementioned process every morning before starting my computer, ughh

So i've used the computer for about 8 hours and had no green screens, if i restart the computer now i will get a green screen within 3 minutes.

 

Should i go to AMD support with this or what? I have a feeling installing an older driver would fix the issue but yield noticeably worse performance.

I have exactly the same problem. I have been searching for hours. Every time my computer shuts down or restarts I have to reinstall the graphics drivers using DDU or it crashes with a green or black screen. Did you find a solution? I have an Rx 570, if that helps
