I've been wanting to get a 1080ti since late January but the prices went up and I decided to wait, they have dropped to little under 1000 now should I buy it now? i can afford it at this price and have been able to afford it. Or should I wait for it to go down more or just wait it out for the 1180 or whatever it will be called? Starting to get impatient and just really want a better card now(currently, have gtx970 and it's just not giving me the fps I want at the settings I want.

Honestly, I would just wait; I think they should only go down from here (but they can go back up).

Also, you can always consider getting a used card; but these often have no warranty, and used cards have also gotten more expensive.

The 1080ti is selling for way too much over MSRP for me to recommend it right now. Just get the 1180 when it comes out and spam the hell out of F5 when the countdown to launch approaches zero. If you nVidia runs out of supply before you have a chance to buy just get a gtx 1080ti since prices will be marked down (assuming there isn't another crypto bloom until after July). Again, the introduction of the newer product to the GPU market will likely knock 1080ti prices to <$700 (even less on the used market... I saw a ROG strix 1080ti on Craigslist for $600 already yesterday).

Hard to compete with bots and scripters, but if you learn how to use something simple like Autohotkey, you may stand a chance

Just don't rely on F5ing, you may get lucky, or you may not
