Hello! I have been looking at some test benches and it seems to me that for what they are they aren't worth the cost in my opinion. I know they can be a very convent and useful tool and I would like to have one for this reason. I have seen a lot of people build there own bench out of an old computer case and I do have some extras to work with. The problem with this is it wont work look as pretty but I think I will be able to work with it.

My question is has anyone done this on here? Also do any of you have tips on how to make it or how to make it look nicer? Ideally I would like to make it two levels similar to most of the retail benches with the power supply, hard drive, etc. on the the bottom and motherboard on top.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank!

Ye I would like to know how people. It wold be worth it but it would be hard because of the precision alignment of the pci slots and the motherboard standoffs. Maybe try experimenting with a dead motherboard on some aluminium or steel sheets to try and work out where it would all go.

Yeah i have an old case I can use I was planning to cut out the motherboard tray so I have the standoffs and everything. Also I haven't looked to far into it but I may be able to cut it so that the PCI slot brackets can stay attached.

My biggest problem is trying to figure out what to do for the bottom for the PSU and stuff. What do you mean build a shoebox under?
