EK Monoblock

Hi there,

 

Question for you guys is there any compatibility for the EK monoblock for MSI motherboards (MSI z270/Z370 Gaming RGB Monoblock) with the MSI Z270 Gaming M7, on EK shop they assure the compatipility for the Gaming M3 but not for the M5 or the M7. Is there anyone who knows if it is compatible ?

I don't think so. You're better off with a motherboard that has good cooling and an EK CPU block.

I'm not sure how not cooling the VRMs is better than cooling them...?

Anyway, EK doesn't make monoblocks that support MSI Z370 boards.

just get mobo with decent VRM cooling and focus on cpu block alone

Not sure why you want it for Looks or Performance.

 

If for performance you could: Get separate blocks for each chip + VRam. Which would be the same thing as a Full monoblock.

yeah, EK. Throw them an email and they'll tell you.

 

I'm going to lean towards no. Mostly because they either haven't tried it or just know from the screw layout. Why maintain compatibility when you just sell more blocks?

Maintaining compatibility is pretty hard if mobo makers keep changing layouts thats hardly on EK. They cant smell what mobo vendors are gonna do next so they make the best cooling for that one motherboard/generation.

VRM designs hardly change at all between generations. It wouldn't be hard.
