Hi,

What should you prioritize more:

1440p over 1080p on lower quality settings

1080p over 1440p on max quality settings

?

Just so I know whether to push for a 1440p monitor or 1080p. I will be getting about a 24" and don't want to push for 1440p if I am going to sacrifice too much quality details. Card in question would be a Nitro+ 580 or Strix 1060.

1060 strixx + 144/240 24 inch monitor 1080p really good combo

i actually hace 1440p with a 1070 and on competitive games (cs:go , rocket league , dota2 ....) i can achieve 144 fps ez but not on newer games ,

I got a 1440p tn and a 1080 ips and (both 23,8'') , look for a 144/240hz with gsync (1080p) and you will really love it

I have a 4K TV with my One X, and 1080p TV with my PC (GTX 1070). It used to be the other way around, but some of the games I play the most on PC just didn't run well enough in 4K. I do miss 4K on PC, but this arrangement is more balanced for my current hardware and taste in games (+ free of hassle). I don't have a single answer to the "resolution vs. settings" debate, it's very game specific and boils down to what makes the game in question most enjoyable.

Thanks for the replies.

Tbh I think I will be sticking to 1080p for now anyway, even in the new monitor. I sit basically infront of the screen so I think a 24" is the biggest I should go.. 27" might be a bit of a stretch and someone told me 1080p at 27" right infront of it is too noticeable.

Guess I will decide on GPU and then go for 24" 1080p at least 60hz and freesync if possible.
