6 or 4 core AMD Ryzen 7

I was wondering if I got a AMD Ryzen 1800x and went into the bios and disabled 2 or 4 cores if I would get better gaming performance? I know some people are going to think this is some late stupid april fools joke but does anyboay know. The games I would be playing would be GTA 5 and Ghost Recon Wildlands.

No it could actually lower performance if a lot of cpu is being used by other programs or the game.

No. The reason 4 core cpus are known as "better gaming cpus" than 6-8 core ones is because they usually have higher clock speeds.

If you compare a 6th gen intel quad core running on 5Ghz versus a 8 core running on 4Ghz... Well, the 4 core will pwn.

Ultra is stupid. ALWAYS.
