Get what you can afford, leave the lower end stuff for other people. As far as what one to get, depends on your region and preference.

 

Goals play a factor too. I always get cards that have an ekwb made. Or Run the fe version as I prefer the looks and compatibility with my system with out having too many draw backs compared to open air coolers.

If you do not have a custom loop, buy one of the factory AIO cooled cards.  I will never go back.  Quiter, cooler, and faster.

The 1080 Strix OC seems to boost to about 2050 MHz. 

If you can afford it, get it. 

Otherwise, all 1080 cards will perform pretty much the same and give you very similar FPS. Probably 2-3 FPS difference. 

 

The Asus Strix, MSI Gaming X/Z and Gigabyte Extreme Gaming are the top of the line cards.
